Women Gain Access to Maternal Health Care

We celebrated a big win for community members in Baprola's government resettlement colony in September. After months of monitoring, reporting, and complaint-filing by Nazdeek's community paralegals, the Delhi government deployed two Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) to the colony. Community paralegals and Nazdeek had filed administrative complaints regarding the lack of ASHA workers in the community, which was denying pregnant women their key rights and entitlements. Now, with ASHAs deployed to the community, pregnant women and their newborns are able to receive additional health services and key government entitlements. We congratulate our paralegals on the ground in playing a huge part in making this win possible!
